Peter Parker can't seem to catch any kind of break. Being Spider-Man has brought him nothing but problems as far as his personal life is concerned. Not only that, Mary Jane Watson is engaged to astronaut John Jameson, and Peter may lose her forever. Things are so bad for him that he is pushed past his breaking point, so he decides that he doesn't want to be a super hero anymore, until a freak accident transforms Dr. Otto Octavius into Dr. Octopus, a super-villain with four metal tentacles protruding from his torso. Peter realizes that only Spider-Man can stop him but, of course, problems arise. Mary Jane gets caught in the middle, and Harry Osborn, who still blames the web-slinger for the death of his father Norman Osborn, also the Green Goblin, wants him dead. Spider-Man will have to push himself past his limits if he's going to survive.
Peter Parker is an unhappy man: after two years of fighting crime as Spider-Man, his life has begun to fall apart. The girl he loves is engaged to someone else, his grades are slipping, he cannot keep any of his jobs, and on top of it, the newspaper Daily Bugle is attacking him viciously, claiming that Spider-Man is a criminal. He reaches the breaking point and gives up the crime fighter's life, once and for all. But after a failed fusion experiment, eccentric and obsessive scientist Dr. Otto Octavius is transformed into super villain Doctor Octopus, Doc Ock for short, having four long tentacles as extra hands. Peter guesses it might just be time for Spider-Man to return, but would he act upon it?
I love this movie so much! I love all of the characters and the CGI is amazing for the year the movie was released. I watch this movie at least once a year and I still wish Tobey Maguire was playing the role of Peter Parker/Spider-Man today. I love the ending and how it sets up the next installment so perfectly. I love the gritty feel of this movie and you can feel the pain and intensity with every fight scene between Spider-Man and Doc Ock. My favorite Spider-Man movie of all-time!!!!! Watch this movie if you have not seen it yet, I highly recommend it to fans of Spider-Man and comic book movie fans.
All the critics think this is the best spider man movie and call it one of the best superhero movie of all time and everyone else calls it the best one too. But in my opinion, I think that this is an overrated spider man movie. I like that it starts fresh and has very funny moments particularly J.K. Simmons who is still fantastic as J. Jonah Jameson, but as the movie goes on it starts to get boring, especially for a spider man movie. The special and visual effects are great and spider man looked as real as ever, but the movie drags on in the middle part. Tobey Maguire, who was excellent as the titular character in the first film, lacks heroic presence in the movie. Kirsten Dunst sort of disappoints in the movie a little bit but still is convincing as Mary Jane Watson. To be honest though, I thought Alfred Molina was not that menacing as Dock Ock. He lacked as a villain for me in this movie and I prefer the green goblin over him from the first film. However, James Franco I thought really does a great job in this movie and is my favorite performance in this film but is a little underused.
Overall, I thought this movie is just good, not great as everyone else thought. The first hour is excellent but becomes too boring and too much love duty afterwards. Maguire and Molina are disappointing as the hero and the villain. Dunst is still good. The special effects are still amazing. Franco and Simmons both steal the show.
Overall: 7/10 Good but overrated Spiderman Movie my least favorite one.
Forget "Raising Helen" and "The Notebook," this is the movie summer's most touching young romance.
"Hold On" by Jet. In theory, the amount of heat and gravitational pull from a star, even one that size, would be enough to pull in and vaporize the water around it. We should have seen a very large column of steam rising out of the river, but it is a detail that was probably over looked or not even considered. Basically, there are three different cuts available throughout the world. First of all, there is the well-known theatrical version孫 that has been altered prior to the British cinema release族 by Sony and unfortunately found its way to nearly all PAL DVDs. One headbutt has been replaced with a normal punch. The US DVD is uncut. Then, just in time for the theatrical release of Spider-Man 3 (2007)
an Extended Cut続 has been released to the home media market that runs approximately 8 minutes longer than the theatrical version. This extended version features several different kind of new scenes
